Alltime Finland has secured the competitive tender for the Keitele waterway maintenance area for the years 2025–2030. The total value of the contract is approximately 1 million euros.
The Keitele waterway area includes lakes such as Upper and Lower Keitele, Konnevesi, Sonkari, Iisvesi, Nilakka and Suonenjoki, located in the Central Finland and North Savo regions. These waterways provide an inland route connecting Jyväskylä to Viitasaari in the north, and eastward to Suonenjoki and Pielavesi. The area also includes nine canals with locks.
“Alltime already holds a strong position in maritime safety device maintenance in Finland, with over 60% of the country’s navigation aids under our management. This new contract adds nearly 1,000 kilometres of waterways and around 2,000 new safety devices to our maintenance portfolio. We continue our important work in enabling safe waterborne traffic in close cooperation with the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency,” says Antti Sappinen, Business Director, waterway maintenance, Alltime Finland.
Alltime’s existing waterway maintenance contracts include regions such as Saimaa, the Gulf of Finland, and Lake Inari.

Alltime, a Nordic leader in maintaining built environments, launches a new digital remote monitoring service for maritime navigation aids.
The service enables remote monitoring of maritime safety devices, such as buoys, for both their condition and location. Based on real-time data, malfunctions or damages can be addressed quickly and efficiently. Digital remote monitoring of navigation aids also helps reduce CO₂ emissions from service operations, as fewer on-site manual inspections are required using vessels.
Remote monitoring will first be deployed in Espoo, following the City of Espoo’s procurement decision to select Alltime Suomi as its partner for the digitalisation, maintenance, and upkeep of sea marks on its boat routes. Alltime will digitalise and assume maintenance responsibility for approximately 80 maritime safety devices in Espoo. The service will soon be available to other waterway maintenance customers across Finland.
“I’m excited that we’re now bringing digitalisation forward in waterway maintenance. We maintain around 12,000 maritime safety devices in Finland, and by digitalising their monitoring, our clients will gain access to real-time data, along with more environmentally friendly and efficient service. We thank the City of Espoo for leading the way with us. This is the future of waterway maintenance,” says Antti Sappinen, Business Director, Infrastructure maintenance on waterways, Alltime Suomi.
Alltime Suomi is the market leader in waterway maintenance, responsible for over 60% of maritime safety devices on Finland’s sea and inland waterways. “This is a concrete example of how new technologies, robotics, and AI are rapidly advancing across all areas of maintenance – from cleaning and property services to infrastructure maintenance and waterways as in this case. With new technologies, we can create new services and provide real-time transparency for customers and users alike. We are strongly investing in leveraging technology across all areas of our operations,” says Juha Murtopuro, CEO, Alltime Group.

Alltime has secured two significant waterway maintenance contracts, winning both the Perämeri and Saimaa waterway maintenance tenders from the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (Väylävirasto). With these agreements, Alltime becomes the market leader in Finland, now maintaining approximately 20,000 maritime safety devices.
The annual value of the Perämeri maintenance contract is approximately 1 million euros, while the Saimaa contract is worth approximately 1.3 million euros. Both contracts begin on August 1, 2024, and have a duration of five years.
“We thank the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency for their trust and for the longstanding collaboration. It is an honor for us to contribute to safe waterway navigation by maintaining nearly 75% of Finland’s maritime safety devices,” says Antti Sappinen, Business Director, Infrastructure maintenance on waterways. “For years, we have strived to become market leaders through our dedicated effort and commitment to quality. This is also an important milestone in our growth strategy.”
